Today marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990. Signed by President George H.W. Bush, the law brought civil rights and protections to not only people with disabilities, but everyone, in the workplace, schools, and communities.

I had the opportunity to see the ADA Legacy Tour (Wayback Machine), a cross-country interactive exhibit promoting disability rights as civil rights, when it stopped in Detroit’s Eastern Market.
