What caught my attention when I discovered this infographic about small business websites was the very first item:

Around 60 percent of small businesses do not have a website

I admit, the number surprised me.

Any business without a website, where they can promote their services and products, is missing out on prospective customers.

And customers expect a website.

They want to find information about a business, hours, prices, and whether what the company offers is what they’re looking for.

And for companies, a website offers the opportunity to tell their story: what they do, why they do it, and what services and products they offer.

But all is not lost.

When I visited LinkedIn this morning, one of the first posts that displayed in my feed was from Andrew:

I’m launching a new business and can’t decide which logo to use. Can you tell me which of these two logos you prefer?

Andrew, I appreciate you asking for my opinion.

And it looks like over 1,400 people have already provided their thoughts on which logo to use, choosing A or B.

We’ve all been there. The product manager at work sends an email message moving the project deadline up to next week. You’ve just finalized plans with your family for an extended trip to the cottage this weekend.

Or you need to pick up your son from child care at 5:30pm and your team leader walks by your work area to say there’s a team meeting at 5:00pm to talk with the implementation consultants on the west coast.

“With the four hour time difference, it’s more convenient for us to talk at the end of the day, ” she says.
