2015 in Review: The 5 Most Popular Posts

It’s the end of 2015, which means it’s time to look back on the year. I hope you enjoyed what I shared on the blog and that you found the content useful in your work and projects.

My goal is to write posts that are helpful to you in your work and business, whether you’re designing and developing websites, or expanding your business and need to learn how to better use technology.

As I reviewed the past year blog posts, I discovered what blog posts were your favorites.

And it turns out, no one topic stood out. Rather there was a range of topics you enjoyed reading.

In no particular order, here are the top five posts you liked in 2015:

  1. How to Fix “Your Account Has Been Suspended” Message on Your Website
You wake up Monday morning to discover the message “Your account has been suspended” on your website. Uh oh. What happened? You didn’t make any changes to your site over the weekend.
  2. How Customer Service Can Impact Your Business [Infographic]
Providing good customer service to all of your customers is key to building your business. Four out of five people are more likely to work with a business after receiving good service.
  3. Make Free Video Calls With Firefox Hello
Welcome to the latest kid on the block for online video calls: Firefox’s new Hello feature, released in January 2015. A web-based chat and online video service, Hello allows you to start a conversation by sharing or emailing a link to your colleague, friend, or family member. No download required.
  4. Fluent Conference: Kathy Sierra on Developers and Cognitive Resources
Kathy Sierra returned to the stage earlier this year at the O’Reilly Fluent Conference. I shared my notes from the livestream of her Making Badass Developers keynote, a talk about cognitive resources and how developers can build their skill sets.
  5. Accessibility and Inclusive Design In-Person Groups
Getting together in-person to talk about accessibility and learn about inclusive design are great opportunities to meet people in your community, find out about their work, and share your knowledge. Check out my list of meetup groups from around the world.
