What a Game! Chicago Cubs End 108-Year Drought

What a game!

Like thousands of other people, I congratulate the Chicago Cubs on their 2016 Major League Baseball World Series win in the early hours this morning.

The Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians in the 10th inning of the final game of the World Series by a score of 8-7.

I admit it. I thought the Cubs were likely to win.

They took an early lead at 3-1 and stayed in the lead until the top of the eighth inning.

But then the Cleveland Indians came roaring back with three runs to tie the game at 6-6.

At that point, I had no idea which team would win.

After nine innings, the two teams remained tied, forcing additional innings.

A 17-minute rain delay kept the two teams waiting to complete the game after midnight.

In the tenth inning, both teams scored.

The Cubs with two runs and the Indians replied with only one run at the bottom of the tenth before the final out for the game was called.

I can’t imagine how the team and their fans feel.

After 108 years (their last World Series win was against the Detroit Tigers in Detroit in 1908), the Chicago Cubs brought home the World Series trophy.

Congrats, Cubs!
