Photo of the Week: Let’s Go Tigers! Comerica Park in Downtown Detroit

March 28, 2021 By Deborah Edwards-Onoro Leave a Comment

15-foot-tall tiger statue with one paw raised at the entrance of Comerica Park, blue sky in background.

In celebration of this week’s home opening baseball game for the Detroit Tigers (on April 1, 2021), I stopped at Comerica Park in downtown Detroit to capture this photo of the main entrance to the stadium.

The home of the Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park features a 15-foot-tall tiger statue welcoming you as you enter the ballpark.

You can imagine how popular the statue is!

Every time I go by Comerica Park on a game day, I see groups of people around the statue, waiting their turn to take their photo in front of the big tiger.

If you’re a Detroit Tigers baseball fan, have you taken your photo in front of the big tiger?

While the Detroit Tigers have had, what should I say, a challenging season, they roared quickly at the beginning of the game with a grand slam home run, and led the Minnesota Twins 5-0. Continue reading Photo of the Week: Detroit Tigers Win at Comerica Park
