Critical PHP Security Release Affecting Websites

An emergency PHP upgrade will be released today, affecting websites worldwide.

The release addresses two critical vulnerabilities in PHP that could lead to remote code execution. PHP is one of the technologies used by websites, including WordPress websites.

Since my site is hosted, I’m not sure how long it will take before PHP is patched on my hosting company servers.

It’s likely this site and thousands of others worldwide will be offline until PHP patches are installed.

Some website administrators are taking theirs sites down, so expect to find many non-working sites today and this week.
