You can’t miss the large steel sculpture as you complete the curve on Lakeshore Drive from the U.S. Coast Guard Station on the Detroit River at Belle Isle State Park in Detroit, Michigan.

The copper-colored sculpture with blue glass stands out on a raised slope on the east side of the park, where the lighthouse trail starts.

Photo of the Week: Hands Held High

The sculpture of an athlete holding their arms up in victory stands out at Horizon Park overlooking Belleville Lake in downtown Belleville, Michigan.

Hands Held High was created entirely of steel by nationally-recognized sculptor Gregory Mendez, whose outdoor sculptures are exhibited across the United States.

Driving down Woodward through Detroit’s Cultural Center, you couldn’t miss the large glowing white inflatible in front of Detroit Public Library’s main branch.

Part of DElectricity, Detroit’s outdoor visual light and art festival held this weekend, the white sculpture of a contemplative man was almost as tall as the library building itself.

The cool temperatures and clear night made for a fantastic night for festival attendees to walk through the Cultural Center, enjoying the light shows and sculptures in front of the museums, libraries, and other buildings.
