I love the deep purple color of my common camas flowers; they sprout early in spring and bloom from mid-spring through early summer.

They were a free gift of 20 bulbs I received a few years ago with an order of plants from a mail-order nursery.

This morning I joined other members of our Wayne County Wild Ones chapter as we up-potted our winter sown native plants from late January.

A self-cleaning house, 60-foot long octopuses, and the longest bridge in Finland are a few of the interesting stories I’ve enjoyed in the past month.
