Flooding in Metro Detroit

Torrential rains came through the metro Detroit area late this afternoon and early evening.

Our neighborhood was one of many in and around Detroit that was hit hard with flood waters.

It’s barely visible, but there’s a sidewalk about three feet in front of the green leafy ground cover in the foreground of the photo.

As of 11:30pm tonight, the water still hasn’t completely subsided; it’s still up to the curb on both sides of the street.

  1. Thank you, Chris. Water has receded in our neighborhood, but I haven’t ventured out to the surface streets. The people on the north side of town were hit the hardest with the rains. Portions of some expressways are still closed.
