Her focus on research design allows her to identify latent user needs that create meaningful impact for the customers she serves.
Ezekiel Harris is a social impact designer specializing in social innovation and human-centered design.
He has first-hand experience creating positive social and economic change by transforming places, systems, and communities through products, services, and experiences.

What Is World Usability Day?
World Usability Day (WUD) is an annual worldwide event, held the second Thursday in November.
It’s an inclusive event, bringing people together from the community to learn about and discuss how usability affects our daily lives in the services and products we use.
Events are held locally and are open to the public.
I have many fond memories of World Usability Day over the years, attending my first WUD event at Michigan State University in the mid-2000’s.
It was one of the first user experience events I attended when I was expanding my web knowledge beyond web design and development.
Detroit User Experience Meetup and World Usability Day Detroit
Our Detroit User Experience meetup group held our first WUD Detroit event in 2013, hosting Jeff Greer (Content Strategist at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan) and Steve Tengler (then User Experience Director at Altia, Inc.) who spoke on collaborating for better systems in healthcare.
For World Usability Day Detroit 2014, David Lingholm (Director of Digital Media for the City of Detroit) and Cora Cowles (Senior User Experience Architect at Organic) were our guest presenters, speaking on usability and engagement.
Though last year’s event was scheduled to end at 8:00pm, there was so many interesting questions and discussion between speakers and attendees, we didn’t end the event until almost 9:00pm.
As of today, over 50 WUD events will be happening in 28 countries around the world this year. Learn about World Usability Day on their website.
Looking forward to seeing you November 12!
