World Information Architecture Day Ann Arbor Returns for Sixth Year

Back for the sixth year, World Information Architecture (IA) Day Ann Arbor returns to Ann Arbor, Michigan on February 18, 2017 for a full-day of inspiring presentations and hands-on sessions.

Hosted by the Information Architecture Institute and organized by University of Michigan graduate students, World IA Day Ann Arbor joins dozens of other World IA Day 2017 events taking place in 58 locations in 24 countries and five continents.

World IAD Day 2017. Local Connections. Global Impact.

The annual event brings together information architects, practitioners, students, community members, and others interested in information strategy: how information can be organized to be clear, usable and understandable.

This year’s theme is Information Strategy & Structure.

World IA Day Ann Arbor 2017 Details & Schedule

World IA Day Ann Arbor is free ($15 tickets that get you a t-shirt have already sold out) and open to the public; pre-registration is required.

The event will be held at the University of Michigan Palmer Commons  at Washtenaw Avenue and Palmer Drive (map and directions).

  • 8:30am to 9:15am: Registration and coffee/breakfast
  • 9:15am to 9:30am: Welcome Remarks
  • 9:30am to 10:15am: An Architecture for Your Career in IT, Kelli Trosvig, Vice President for Information Technology & Chief Information Officer, University of Michigan
  • 10:15am to 10:45am: Mike Beasley
  • 10:45am to 11:15am: Krysta Stone
  • 11:15pm to 11:45am: Lightning Talks: Tables and Chairs and Signs, oh my! Telling the Story of Our Spaces and Services, Joshua Ethan Sanchez; That’s Wrong! Learning When & How to Break the Rules, Nisreen Salka
  • 11:45am to 1:00pm: Lunch (on your own)

  • 5:00pm to 8:00pm Happy hour/Networking event at Ashley’s Pub
