Tim Springer, CEO and founder of Level Access, will take a deep dive into the report findings and how digital awareness is moving us forward in creating a more inclusive future for everyone.
What is the 2021 State of Digital Accessibility Report?
Conducted by Level Access, G3ict (The Global Initiative for Inclusive ICTs), and IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals), 2021 is the third year for the State of Digital Accessibility survey.
The survey was open to everyone for one month in early 2021; over 1,000 people across 35 industries participated.
Majority of the participants were from the United States (almost 77%).
According to the report, the results:
… provide insights into overall trends in the industry and the digital accessibility programs of organizations large and small
The 69-page report is extensive, covering benchmarking data, drivers, challenges, product development, design, testing and content creation.
Two key findings stood out for me from the report:
- Individuals are far more concerned with inclusivity (92.5%) and user experience (81.5%) than their organizations
- Over half (51.9%) of organizations said implementing a standard, organization-wide approach to accessibility was a goal for 2021
