TEDxDetroit, the one-day event focused on ideas, innovations, and inspiration, returns Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit, Michigan.
The independently produced event highlights Detroit speakers and organizations as well as recorded TED talks doing creative work in technology, entertainment, and design.
About TEDxDetroit
Since 2009, TEDxDetroit has brought together Detroiters as well as people throughout Michigan to share a TED-like experience featuring entrepreneurs, filmmakers, engineers, scientists, students, designers, and educators.
This year marks the 14th year for TEDxDetroit, hard to believe! I remember the first event.
The day-long conference has expanded over the years and now includes:
- Live talks
- Hands-on exhibits in TEDxLabs
- TEDxMarketplace
- TED videos
- Visual arts
- Musical performances
all designed to spark ideas, conversations, and inspire creativity.

Tickets and Event Info
The live in-person event on October 26, 2022 will be at Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Detroit, Michigan, which seats 1,700 people.
Register today, buy your early bird $75 ticket to attend in-person. Ticket prices increase to $100 after September 15, 2022.
Group registration is also available.
Vaccinations are strongly encouraged for attendees. Free livestream will also be available (I couldn’t confirm, but I believe there’s no registration for the livestream.)
Why I Attend TEDx Events
Since 2010 when I went to my first TEDx event at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, I’ve attended over three dozen TEDx events throughout Michigan.
From in-person to livestream events in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Ypsilanti, I’ve always left each TEDx event with a feeling of energy and inspiration from the presenters and conversations I’ve had with attendees.
What I love about TEDx events: the personal stories speakers share, the people I meet, and the conversations I have with other attendees.
