I admit it. I’m not a video game player.

When Myst was released in 1993, I was one of the first people to play it at the software company where I worked.

We all gathered together in one office to try and figure out what it was all about.

I did well, it was fun! But I never really got interested in video games after that.

Until the past few years, when I learned more about video games from my friends. And how games were becoming more accessible to people using assistive technology.

When Herman Narula, CEO of Improbable Worlds Limited, opens his TED 2019 talk about the transformative power of video games with the statement that a third of the world’s population—2.6 billion people—play video games, it caught my attention.
