Imagine having a first row seat to hear an excerpt of Handel’s Messiah performed by the nationally acclaimed Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings ensemble accompanied by the Kirk in the Hills Choir.

That’s how I enjoyed my evening last night at the 47th annual Noel Night in midtown Detroit, where the performance took place in the amazing Rivera Court at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Photo of the Week: Celebrating the 93rd Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit

I was up early before the sun rose on Thanksgiving Day.

Not to start making rolls and side dishes to accompany our turkey dinner later in the day.

I was on my way to Detroit to watch the annual Thanksgiving Day parade in person, along with thousands of other people who joined me on a cold, gray morning to line Woodward Avenue.
