At the end of an amazing day of birding at Magee Marsh, I had the pleasure of seeing the short, stocky Green Heron poised on a log in the water, searching for food.
He crouched close to the log and moved slowly as he peered into the water. I wasn’t surprised when he quickly darted to spear a small fish with his bill and gobble it up.
