I was up early before the sun rose on Thanksgiving Day.

Not to start making rolls and side dishes to accompany our turkey dinner later in the day.

I was on my way to Detroit to watch the annual Thanksgiving Day parade in person, along with thousands of other people who joined me on a cold, gray morning to line Woodward Avenue.

Celebrating the 91st Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit

What a wonderful way to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday at the 91st Thanksgiving Day Parade in Detroit, now known as America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
