A Great blue heron, a large water bird, stands on one foot facing backwards as a large ice sheet floats down the Detroit River, Small pockets of open water can be seen around the ice sheet.

Photo of the Week: S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald Anchor

With many events this week marking the 50th anniversary of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald sinking on November 10, 1975 in Lake Superior, I spent part of my weekend visiting Dossin Great Lakes Museum at Belle Isle State Park in Detroit.
