Photo of the Week: Native Plants at Belle Isle State Park

When I went birding at Belle Isle State Park this weekend, I found black fabric lining the shoreline as a type of fence around a majority of the park.

I didn’t know what it was, so I stopped at the Nature Center to ask the staff.

Photo of the Week: Daffodils in Bloom at Belle Isle State Park

One of my favorite places to visit in spring is Belle Isle State Park to see the daffodils in bloom on the island.

This week’s photo shows the first daffodils in bloom at the park, on the north side of the island near the paved trail, past the beach and before the north fishing pier.

I love how the daffodils follow the curve of the trail!
