Quick Tip: Remove “Very” in Your Writing

I admit it, I’m someone who uses “very” in my writing.

Not something I’m proud of.

I work at not using it, but sometimes it sneaks into my sentences.

Thanks to a post by Esther Schindler on Mastodon, I learned about LoseTheVery, a free online tool to remove “very” from your vocabulary.

Thinking of writing “very awful” in your blog post?

LoseTheVery suggests “dire” as a concise alternative.

The site has a simple layout. Enter the word after “very” into their form, and LoseTheVery offers a suggestion.

You can also get a random suggestion.

As well as make a suggestion in Airtable of a concise adjective for a simple adjective.

LoseTheVery is the kind of tool I love to use, helping me to improve my writing.
