Photo of the Week: Witch Hazel in Bloom

The scraggly, yellow threadlike flowers of the Witch Hazel may not seem as beautiful as the purple crocus flowers in my yard that have been blooming for the past few weeks.

Or the bright red tulips that will cover my front courtyard in a few weeks.

Or even the statuesque white and yellow daffodils.

But in my eyes, the bright yellow Witch Hazel flowers are a welcome sign of spring in our area.

What signs of spring are you seeing in your area? What’s blooming in your garden?
