Photo of the Week: Glass Kite Sculpture and Waterfall at One Campus Martius

I’ve always been fascinated by the colorful kites and waterfall in the atrium of the One Campus Martius building in downtown Detroit.

Little did I know, until I did some research this weekend, that the indoor water feature is the largest in the world!

Consisting of 15 glass kites, the glass sculpture and waterfall are more than 14 stories tall.

The sculpture was created by Wet Design (be aware their current home page requires Flash), a water feature design firm based in Los Angeles, California that is known for designing the fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Next time you visit the One Campus Martius building, look up and marvel at the beautiful glass kites.
