Photo of the Week: Belle Isle Annual Holiday Stroll

Against a backdrop of holiday lights and dozens of brightly colored poinsettias, the joyous sounds of the Deep River Choir filled the Show House at the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory during Belle Isle’s annual Holiday Stroll.

It was crowded and dimly lit in the Show House as people moved in and out of the room, hoping to find a better spot to sit or stand while the choir sang.

Wish I had been able to get a better photo!

What is the Belle Isle Holiday Stroll?

To celebrate the holidays, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, Belle Isle Nature Zoo, Belle Isle Aquarium, Belle Isle Boat House, and the conservatory extend their hours for their annual holiday stroll.

Families can enjoy an evening of activities, including holiday music performances, arts and crafts, hot cocoa, cookies, and other activities.

Great Way to Kick Off the Weekend!

In addition to enjoying the music and other activities, I saw two ships—one upbound, one downbound—on the Detroit River during the holiday stroll.

And managed to spot over 200 birds on the river, including Bufflehead, Redheads, and Scaup before the sun went down.

Fun evening!
