Photo of the Week: America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit

Clear blue skies, bright sunshine, cool temperatures, and little to no breeze greeting parade watchers in Detroit for the annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade down Woodward Avenue.

It was the first time in three years I’ve attended the parade in person.

Gorgeous day!

It was wonderful to watch the floats, marching bands, clowns, Big Heads, dancing groups, and other participants in the parade.

Here are a few more of my parade photos.

Black and white cow balloon jumping over the blue and white balloon, with balloon handlers dressed in matching white and black moon costumes.
One of my favorite balloons at this year’s parade!
Brightly colored clowns with tall hats walking down Woodward avenue, passing out colored bead necklaces. Colorful clown float in the background.
I managed to catch a couple of the bead necklaces the clowns passed out to parade watchers.
Duluth High School marching band in black and white uniforms march down Woodward Avenue, trombones in the lead followed by percussion players. Hannan House in the background.
One of over 10 marching bands in the parade.
