Photo of the Week: A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare in Detroit

Shakespeare in Detroit kicked off the first of their open-air summer performances last night of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at New Center Park in Detroit.

It was an amazing performance that had the performers using all corners of the stage and running through the audience.

After missing last year’s performance at Grand Circus Park, nothing was going to keep me away from attending my friend Sam White’s production of Shakespeare in the park.

The weather was questionable earlier in the day, with clouds moving into the area in the afternoon. Just before I arrived, I saw sprinkles of rain on my windshield, and prayed the rain would hold off.

Thankfully, the clouds moved on. At the start of the play, a light breeze swept through the New Center Park area, lightly moving the branches of the honey locust trees.

Kudos to my friend Sam White and TeamSid for a wonderful performance and a very entertaining evening.
