While ooohing and aahing over the gorgeous ice sculptures created by ice carvers and local culinary arts college students, like this stunning dog ice sculpture, is my typical way of enjoying the Plymouth Ice Festival, this year the festival had an added feature: interactive games at the children’s ice playground.

Thanks to Accessibility New York City (A11y NYC) livestreaming their January 2017 meetup last night, I was able to attend Shawn Lauriat’s presentation How Learning American Sign Language (ASL) Improved My Alt Text.
