Or are you a content strategist, digital marketer, or project manager wanting to learn how to incorporate inclusive design in your projects?
Then you won’t want to miss this year’s Inclusive Design 24 event on October 11, 2018.
Deque Team Accessibility Lead Glenda Sims, Microsoft Web Standards Advocate Aaron Gustafson, and Equal Entry Founder Thomas Logan are among the many professionals who will be speaking at the event.
Did I mention the event is free?
About Inclusive Design 24
Inclusive Design 24 (ID24) is a 24-hour online community event, celebrating inclusive design and featuring experts from around the world sharing their knowledge and ideas about creating designs that work for everyone.
Consisting of 24 one-hour talks, ID24 is in its fifth year of offering a full day of one-hour sessions on all things inclusive design.
From HTML to forms to disability inclusion to designing smart cooking appliances, and more, you have the opportunity to learn from the best and get actionable takeaways for your next project.
Sessions range from beginner to advanced. All sessions are livestreamed on YouTube with captions.
There’s no need to register. Attend whatever sessions you can.
Added bonus: recordings will be available after the event.
And if you’re a meetup group organizer or want to present an inclusive design event at your office, ID24 is a a perfect way to do that.
ID24 provides the conference, you provide the space and social activity. Learn how you can set up an ID24 group viewing.
About the Sessions and Schedule
Whether you’re a beginner or someone who has worked on the web for years, you’ll found a topic that interests you.
Each session starts at the top of the hour. From past experience attending all the previous ID24 events, there’s time at the end of each session when the speaker has a Q & A.
If you have a question for the speaker, ask @id24conf on Twitter using the #id24 hashtag.
The ID24 schedule is posted, but I know speakers, topics, and times can change.
Check the schedule before the event so you can plan which talks to attend.
Here are a few of the sessions that interest me:
- Using Cognitive Walkthroughs to Better Review Designs for Accessibility
- Readability & Web: let’s build great inclusive projects
- Accessible Websites with WordPress
- Diverse Representations in Design and Awkward Conversations with Colleagues
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1: what’s new and what to do with it
Wrapping Up
If you want to improve your inclusive design knowledge, join me on October 11, 2018 for the free ID24 event. Follow me at @redcrew on Twitter where I’ll be live tweeting sessions.
I plan to attend several sessions, though I wonder if I’ll wake up for the 4:00am Eastern Time session for the Readability (if it keeps that time slot).
Hope you consider attending!
