How to Recap Your Daily UX Research

Imagine you’ve finished a user research session and uncovered some interesting results about your new prototype design.

While your research participants loved the improved color palette in the design, they had trouble with a new feature in the layout.

Wouldn’t you like to provide a quick summary of your daily findings, without having to wait for the research to be completed at the end of the week?

Daily UX Research Template

Thanks to user experience researcher Paul Sherman, you can recap your daily UX research results (Google Doc) with his helpful template.

While careful analysis can only be done after your research is completed, providing a quick summary can keep your team members and stakeholders informed.

Given how many organizations have adopted agile methodology in their projects, you want to communicate your results quickly.

Sherman warns that:

…daily recaps should not take the place of considered analysis.

You’ll want to tell your team members to wait for the complete research analysis, and not use the daily recaps to write stories and develop code.
