WordSesh Virtual WordPress Conference Returns May 16-20, 2022

It’s back for another year!

WordSesh, the virtual WordPress conference hosted by WPSessions and Nexcess is returning for five days of WordPress sessions, talks, and workshops.

One of my favorite conferences, WordSesh provides an opportunity for every WordPress professional to attend a curated conference with speakers from around the world.

From the comfort of your own work area, whether that’s an office, home, or somewhere else.

What is WordSesh?

Organized by WPSessions, this year’s WordSesh is a multi-day event with WordPress experts from around the world.

The conference focus is for WordPress professionals to learn how to provide better solutions, improve your skills, and grow your business or career.

What I like about this year’s event: it’s spread over multiple days, with:

  • 20 sessions
  • 3 keynotes
  • 2 in-depth workshops

Each day is designed for a specific geographic area, so the session times work for that geographic area.

Nice! (Have to say I’ll be happy not to try and wake up at 4:00am to attend a session.)

WPSessions attendees will have a half-day of talks on May 16, 18, and 19, 2022 (Eastern Time) across the categories of:

  • Custom block development
  • Headless WordPress
  • Hacking
  • Client services
  • Performance
  • Accessibility
  • User experience

On May 19 and 20, 2022 (Eastern Time), WP Sessions hosts two in-depth hands-on workshops (90 minutes), with instruction, discussions, activities, and breaks:

  1. Convert a Classic Theme to a Block Theme, with Ellen Bauer
  2. Growing Traffic, Growing Problem: How to Prepare for a High Traffice Event, with Tiffany Bridge

Event Date and Registration

WordSesh kicks off May 16, 2022 at 11:00pm Eastern Time.

Sessions start at the top of the hour and on the half hour. Use their handy time zone switch to find the start time for sessions in your time zone.

As in the past, live transcripts will be provided for each session. Don’t forget to join the hallway track to meet and connect with attendees and speakers.

Thanks to the support of sponsors, WPSessions is free but pre-registration is required.

Don’t worry if you miss your favorite talk, recordings with captions and transcripts will be available to all registered attendees.

My Experience at WordSesh

WordSesh 4, a 24-hour WordPress Binge

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve attended several WordSesh events in the past.

My recaps from earlier WordSesh events:

What I liked about WordSesh: the information, resources, and use cases from sessions allowed me to immediately apply what I learned to my work projects.

That’s why I recommend the WordSesh conference to all WordPress professionals. You’re bound to learn something new that will help you with your content strategy, design, or development.

Speakers and Schedule

According to their website, they are still adding more speakers to the schedule.

Here are a few of the 30+ WordSesh speakers already confirmed:

  • Aaron Jorbin
  • Aurooba Ahmed (who developed the Super List Block plugin I use on this website)
  • Chris Reynolds
  • Daisy Olsen
  • Ebonie Butler
  • Ellen Bauer
  • Eric Comfort
  • Jeffrey Paul
  • Néstor Angulo de Ugarte
  • Reavens Fenelon
  • Sumant Lohar
  • Tiffany Bridge
  • Vikas Singhal

Check the schedule to find sessions you plan to attend.

Summary

WordSesh is one of those conferences you don’t to miss: a range of speakers, presentations across a number of WordPress categories, and the opportunity to interact with attendees from around the world.

Since all registered participants have access to the recordings, you can watch sessions you missed or want to experience again.

I’ve registered and will be attending, join me?
