For WordPress folks interested in participating virtually, WordCamp Europe 2022 is offering a livestream of their event.
A brief blog post about the livestream was published on the WordCamp Europe website in mid-May 2022, but received little promotion online.
Which surprised me.
In the past, WordCamp Europe (WCEU) organizers heavily promoted their livestream options for people who couldn’t attend the event in person.
I asked WordCamp Europe about a livestream in early May, but never heard back from them.
Thanks to my friend Bob Dunn (from Do the Woo) who told me he had heard a livestream was planned; less than a week later WordCamp Europe published their livestream blog post.
What You Need to Know
WordCamp Europe 2022 will be held June 2, 2022 through June 4, 2022. The two main conference days are Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4.
With two tracks over two days, plan ahead for which sessions you want to watch on the livestream. There’s a wide range of topics, including:
- Business
- Design
- Development
- Community
- Security
- Accessibility
- Content
- Performance
- Gutenberg
As of today (June 1, 2022), there’s no mention of the livestream on the WordCamp Europe (WCEU) 2022 home page.
According to WCEU’s post, the WCEU 2022 home page will be updated during the event with information about individual session livestreams.
- Only presentations in Track 1 and 2 will be livestreamed on YouTube (Track 1 and 2 begin June 3, 2022)
- Check times for the sessions you want to attend. WCEU is in Porto, Portugal, which is on West European Summer Time. Thankfully the WCEU 2022 schedule has built-in automatic time zone conversion.
- Sessions will be recorded and uploaded later to WordPress.tv
- No registration or ticket required to watch the livestream

Summary
I’ve attended multiple WordCamp Europe livestreams in the past and I’m glad they’re continuing the tradition of offering a livestream for this year’s event.
