Thanksgiving Day Lettuce

It’s Thanksgiving evening.

The golden brown roasted turkey has been cut up, wishbone pulled, partially eaten, and the remains are nestled in a Tupperware container in the refrigerator.

The black and green olives are gone, but there’s plenty of homemade cranberry sauce and leftover tossed green salad.

Salad made with lettuce I picked this afternoon from our Michigan garden.

Lettuce that stayed alive despite temperatures dropping to single digits last night with the wind chill.

Did I mention my goal for Thanksgiving Day was to pick lettuce from my garden?

I’m thankful for my friends, family, a warm home, and the opportunities I’ve had this year to connect people with each other. And I’m thankful I met my Thanksgiving Day goal.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.
