TEDxDetroit Returns for Sixth Year

On September 30, 2014, TEDxDetroit returns for its sixth year at the Detroit Opera House in downtown Detroit.

The one-day event brings together creators, designers, makers, doers, artists, entrepreneurs, and geeks talking about and sharing positive ideas for the world from Detroit.

If you’re not familiar with them, TEDx events are locally produced independent community events, bringing together local people to share a TED-like experience with speakers and TEDTalks on technology, entertainment and design.

I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend over a dozen TEDx events in Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Grand Rapids over the past five years.

I love the personal stories, music, drama, and the powerful and inspiring messages shared by the presenters. After spending a day at TEDx, I feel like anything is possible.

As in past years, attendance at TEDxDetroit 2014 is by application and invitation. Unfortunately, their website says applications have closed, though any remaining tickets will be listed for sale here on the website in the coming days.

Fingers crossed more tickets will be available soon.

This year will be the first year I’ll be volunteering at TEDxDetroit. I’m looking forward to it, and hope to see you there!
