Save the date! TEDxDetroit returns to the Motor City with a day of inspiration, ideas, and innovation on November 6, 2019.
This year’s event returns to the historic Masonic Temple in downtown Detroit.
The one-day conference brings together entrepreneurs, creators, designers, makers, doers, artists, and geeks talking about and sharing positive ideas for the world from Detroit.
If you’re not familiar, TEDx events are locally produced independent community events, bringing together local people to share a TED-like experience with speakers and TEDTalks on technology, entertainment, and design.
I’ve been fortunate to attend over a dozen TEDx events in Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Grand Rapids over the past nine years.
My first TEDx event was the inaugural TEDxUofM in 2010 (my Flickr photos) at the University of Michigan, an event limited to 300 people. Somehow I managed to get one of the community tickets!
In 2014, I chatted with Professor Anne Curzan about Frindle at TEDxUofM 2014. In 2014, I was a photography team volunteer at TEDxDetroit 2014.
Storytelling about Detroit and our community is what draws me to TEDx events; I’m fascinated with and love to share the successes of people and their ideas in our Detroit community.
