Wait, did you see that statue?

It moved!

I smiled as I heard someone say that to their friend as they walked by me at the Western & Southern Open tennis tournament last week in Mason, Ohio.

For the past few years, I’ve been delighted to see members of the Cincinnati Circus entertain the crowds as gold-colored living statues.

I remember the first time I saw a living statue at the tournament; I did a double-take.

“Hmmm,” I replied.

“I’m not sure. I recognize the other players, Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray, and Angelique Kerber.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m an avid tennis fan. My son has played tennis for over ten years.

Through his middle school, high school, and college years, I’ve enjoyed sitting on the side of the court watching his matches.
