Photo of the Week: Snow-covered Teasel

January 23, 2022 by Deborah Edwards-Oñoro
Snow covers the brown flower heads of the Cut-leaf Teasel in the field.

Often seen along the roadsides in Michigan as well as open fields, teasel takes on a different look in winter after a snowfall. The snow-covered flower heads of the almost seven-foot tall Cut-leaf Teasel look like cotton balls to me. What do you think they look like?
