Driving down Woodward through Detroit’s Cultural Center, you couldn’t miss the large glowing white inflatible in front of Detroit Public Library’s main branch.

Part of DElectricity, Detroit’s outdoor visual light and art festival held this weekend, the white sculpture of a contemplative man was almost as tall as the library building itself.

The cool temperatures and clear night made for a fantastic night for festival attendees to walk through the Cultural Center, enjoying the light shows and sculptures in front of the museums, libraries, and other buildings.

Photo of the Week: Meet Chuck

Large rooster sculpture with red comb, white neck, brown body, and ornate tail features struts on the base with a nearby sign promoting chicken dinners.

The almost 10-foot red and brown rooster with ornate tail stands out on Ford Road in between the maple trees that line the busy road.

I smiled at the nearby Chicken Dinner sign with “$1.75” crossed out, replaced with “Free” in capital letters.

Obviously not a real bird, but the metallic Meet Chuck sculpture will catch your attention in front of Target in Canton Township, Michigan.

You could easily walk by without ever noticing the sculpture in the dark shadows under the mature trees in front of the Plymouth District Library in downtown Plymouth, Michigan.
