It’s been planned for years since it closed, but the demolition of a longtime Plymouth Township, Michigan restaurant site took place this past week.

Located on Plymouth Road, the site of The Courthouse Grille was demolished in preparation for new development.

The photo shows the fenced off property from the road, with the grayish chimney still standing, but the middle part of the two main buildings demolished.

Photo of the Week: Big Bluestem

I was delighted on my early morning hike at Lake Erie Metropark when I saw a pair of Marsh wrens chasing each other in the eight-foot tall Big bluestem prairie grass.

Once a lawn of green grass extending almost 1/2 mile to the Wave Pool, the area south of Cherry Island Nature Trail was converted to native prairie grasses a few years ago.
