It’s that time of year again. The higher summer temperatures have given way to cool mornings and, in my opinion, better sleeping weather.

Which has me considering plants I want to add to my garden.

While many nurseries have fewer plants (or have closed for the season), local fall plant sales and swaps are happening all over southeast Michigan.

Spring 2025 Southeast Michigan Native Plant Swaps and Sales

With only a few last remaining piles of snow, it’s time to think spring and planning for our gardens.

Which is a lot easier when you can learn about native plants from fellow gardeners at local plant swaps and growers at native plant/extension sales.

For folks in southeast Michigan, I’ve compiled a list of publicly announced native plant swaps and sales happening over the next few months in our area.

Fall 2024 Southeast Michigan Native Plant Swaps and Sales

Last week we had several days of relatively cool weather for southeast Michigan. Including one night when temperatures reached the high 40’s Fahrenheit.

Which had me thinking of fall and what native plants I might want to add to my garden.

A good time to check upcoming plants swaps and sales and mark my calendar.
