Late afternoon and early evening in winter often finds me on dirt backroads in southeast Michigan, peering over snow-covered fields for the moth-like flapping of the Short-eared Owl. Photo of the Week: Michigan Peaches are Here!

If there’s one thing Michigan folks enjoy in summer, it’s fresh sweet corn, Michigan blueberries, and one of my favorites: Michigan peaches!

A local orchard comes to our Sunday farmer’s market to sell their vegetables and fruits, including their delicious Red Haven peaches.

Today I picked up a bag of peaches and I’m already sorry I didn’t get two bags so I could make some peach pie or jam.
