Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day April 26

I know what my plans are this Saturday: visiting one of our local independent bookstores.

For folks in the United States, April 26, 2025 marks the 12th annual Independent Bookstore Day.

Held the last Saturday in April, Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national celebration where independent bookstores have special events, exclusive books, author talks, cupcakes, contests, tote bags, and raffles.

What I Found Interesting: April 16, 2025

A novel idea for moving over 9,000 books, ibises following their foster human parents on a migration journey from the Alps to Spain, and evidence suggesting how the Egyptian pyramids were really built are a few of the fascinating stories I’ve read and enjoyed over the past month.

Love Books? Consider Alternatives to Amazon

I love books.

I’ve always loved books. I still have my children’s dictionary from when I was in first grade.

As well as dozens of paperbacks I read when I was in high school and college.

I would spend hours at the public library. In college, I worked at the university library as well as the public library.
