The last few evenings have been perfect—relatively cool temperatures with light breezes—for walks at nearby parks. Birds singing joyfully, a Baltimore Oriole pair chasing each other through the tree branches, a Mute Swan swims near the shoreline, its cygnets closely following in tight formation. I was on my way home from visiting the Peony Garden at the University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum this weekend when I decided to stop at Gallup Park.

It’s been a couple months since I last visited Gallup, and I wanted to see waterbirds on the Huron River.
