I was sad to hear the news this morning that Mickey Rooney had died. He was 93 years old, and was with his family when he died in North Hollywood, California.
Rooney was a performer for over 90 years, performing in his parents’ vaudeville act when he was young.
I loved watching him in movies with Judy Garland; his tap-dancing and singing were marvelous.
National Velvet is still a favorite movie of mine. It was wonderful to see him return to the screen as a museum guard in the 2006 A Night at the Museum.
Mr. Rooney, you will be missed.
