Photo of the Week: Young Girl Reading a Book

You could easily walk by without ever noticing the sculpture in the dark shadows under the mature trees in front of the Plymouth District Library in downtown Plymouth, Michigan.

The green-colored sculpture blends in with the landscaping and leafy shrubs bordering the red brick building.

In my mind, I imagine the young girl in her shady yard reading a fascinating adventure story on a warm summer afternoon.

Sadly, my research provided no information about the artist who created the sculpture.

All I could discover was the sculpture was donated in 2004 by the Friends of the Plymouth District Library.

Neither the library nor the Friends website has any background of the sculpture.

Still, what a wonderful sculpture to see!
