What a unique way our church has for celebrating Easter this year!
In addition to our in-person and online services, our church has a special mural on the church doors.
Local Plymouth artist Charles Barker created an amazing Easter-themed mural for our sanctuary doors, based on the history of our First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, Michigan congregation.
The mural shows our church as it looked in 1936, when a fire destroyed the church (except for two items).
The flames come up from the bottom of the mural, turning into a column of white Easter lilies.
Above the flames, angels hold up the Bible, which along with the lectern on which it stood, were the only items that survived the fire.
Without a burn on them as they both fell through the sanctuary door.
The Bible is now kept in our church tower room.
For my readers who celebrate the holiday, I wish you a happy Easter holiday!
