It was a cold morning for this year’s America’s Thanksgiving Parade this week in Detroit, Michigan.
Temperature in the high 30’s Farenheit and a brisk wind out of the northwest kept me bundled up with a plaid blanket over my legs.
Thankfully no rain or snow was forecast for the day!
Along with thousands of other folks lining the streets, we watched dozens of floats, marching bands, clowns, Big Heads, and hot air balloons make their way down Woodward Avenue from the Cultural Center Historic Center to downtown Detroit.
While the Big Bird hot air balloon was a favorite, it was clear Kermit the frog from Sesame Street was a big hit when small children sitting by me oohed and ahhed when he floated in front of us.
This year at the parade was special for me, since my adult son joined me at the parade.
First time since he was a small child he’s joined me at the parade; which means we need to get up early Thanksgiving morning to get a good viewing spot.
Usually he sleeps in like other family members.
For those who celebrate, how was your Thanksgiving holiday?
