Clear blue skies with sunshine finally returned to southeast Michigan today, after what seemed like two weeks of overcast, rainy, and snowy days.
The sunshine is a welcome change!
Though yesterday’s strong winds and drop in temperatures along with today’s sunshine and clear skies also brought bone-chilling Arctic cold to our area.
Which impacted power for many folks.
Yesterday morning, Power Outage US reported more than 100,000 Michigan electric power customers were without power.
A day later, that number of Michigan power customers without power has been reduced to 42,334.
What a terrible time to lose power, in such cold weather! We were lucky this time in keeping our power, this time.
I’m glad our local power companies and their employees have been working diligently to restore power to customers.
And hope people get their power restored soon.
We have several days of cold this week (including weather tomorrow morning with wind chills of -22 Farenheit/-30 Celsius) before we settle back to more “regular” winter temperatures in mid-20’s Farenheit on Thursday.
