After years of having my snowdrops (spring flower bulbs) blooming in the first week of January or early February, they returned this year to what was once their regular bloom time: early March.
Glad to finally see them in bloom!
But odd they’re blooming at about the same time my crocuses are beginning to sprout leaves through the soil.
In the past, snowdrops in my garden would be flowering for several weeks before crocuses begin to show their leaves.
Our area in southeast Michigan had a wet, and somewhat warm early winter.
And the wet was mostly rain.
It wasn’t until almost mid-January before we had our typical cold winter weather that lasted for more than a few days.
With snow that didn’t melt away within a couple days.
We had our share of temperatures in the single digits (Farenheit), but this winter was very odd compared to our typical winters in southeast Michigan.
How about you? If it’s spring in your area, what flowers are blooming in your garden?
