With her announcement in early August 2022 that she’s moving on from playing tennis, Serena Williams’ legendary tennis career came to an end this week when she was defeated in the third round at the 2022 U.S. Open in New York.
Like many fans, I’ve followed her career for years.
Williams has been an inspiration for all, especially Black girls and women, with her achievements in sports, activism, and business.
Serena, we’ll miss you on court. And we all wish you the best in the future.
