Like thousands of other folks this weekend, I couldn’t wait to see the annular solar eclipse and ring of fire.
The solar eclipse would cross parts of the United States on October 14th, starting in Oregon on the west coast and arching down to Texas before heading to Central America and eventually Brazil.
While Michigan wasn’t in the path of the eclipse, we could have seen a partial eclipse.
If the weather obliged.
Unfortunately, we had rain showers and cloudy skies all day.
There was no chance I would see any part of the eclipse in Michigan.
I was thankful for the NASA YouTube livestream where I saw the annularity—when the moon covers the Sun, leaving a bright ring of the Sun around the moon known as the ring of fire—as it appeared in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
What a fantastic sight!
