Photo of the Week: Pollinator Garden at Our Public Library

They’re in bloom!

Last fall our township dug up a large area of grass west of the library and planted a pollinator garden.

It’s about 400 feet long by 30-40 feet wide (at it’s widest area).

I was thrilled to see the flowers in bloom this week. A few weeks ago, all I saw were a lot of seedlings.

I found purple bachelor buttons as well as red, pink, and yellow poppies in bloom this week.

Looking forward to checking out the different flowers in bloom the rest of this year.

And discovering what perennial wildflowers are in the garden next year.

Since perennial wildflowers take a season to establish roots, it will be another year before the perennial wildflowers bloom.
